About

Hi! I’m Sarah, Goth-in-Charge here at Spooky Pages. I’m an aspiring horror writer based in Salem, Massachusetts. When I’m not frantically scribbling down ideas for short stories, you can find me working in the progressive political movement by day and devouring horror and dystopian fiction by night.

I created Spooky Pages to center and celebrate marginalized people in speculative fiction—writers and story characters alike. My own intersecting identities brought me to this work: I’m queer, mentally ill, and a survivor living with PTSD, and I was tired of reading stories where bipolar people were demonized or women and non-binary people were relentlessly brutalized.

From feminist horror to stories that reflect Trumpian dystopias to sci-fi that imagines universes where queer and trans folk, disabled people, and BIPOC are in charge, writers show us time and time again that speculative fiction is inherently political. Now more than ever, we must pay attention.

Eventually, I’d love to highlight my own writing on Spooky Pages. For now, though, my airplane-napkin-story-idea-scrawling is just for me (and my cat).
